What to Expect

Before you come:

We recommend that you wear loose and comfortable clothing to allow the therapist to examine and treat the problematic area. For example, if you have a knee injury, it would best to wear shorts. Think as if you are going to the gym!

We recommend you bring any medical information or imaging related to your case.

We also recommend you bring any information pertaining to private insurance, as we do direct billing on behalf of our patients.

On your first visit, you will come 15 minutes early to fill out the intake form and thorough health history. Then Dr. Wilson or Dr. Kami will come to grab you from the waiting room for your chiropractic appointment!

The History + Exam

The appointment will begin with a thorough health history to get a better understanding of your current problems and the goals you would like to achieve. She then will perform a physical examination – taking a look at your posture, range of motion, strength, and function. You will then discuss an Action Plan before moving to chiropractic treatment.

Treatment

A typical treatment can consist of adjustments, stretches, soft tissue therapy, acupuncture and corrective exercises – it depends on your complaint. The entire first session will normally include treatment unless there is any indication that something more serious is going on and we need to send more imaging.

Types of Treatment available

  • Diversified chiropractic technique (includes soft tissue, mobilizations and adjustments making for slightly longer appointments)
  • Neurofunctional Acupuncture
  • Webster Technique for pre-natal care
  • Infant adjustments
